Esther (30s) has moved home with her Reform mother Ava (60s) until she can find an affordable place to live and get back on her feet. Only the house is not the house she grew up in and her family feels extremely different than the last time she lived at home. As her younger sister Jessie (20s) gets ready to marry the very Conservative Noah (20s) their upcoming wedding adds inescapable conflict to the family that none of them could have predicted. Struggling to find her place, Esther must reconcile with what it means to be Jewish before she loses those who mean the most to her.
